The Course

Hole #1

Opening your round with a mid- to long-iron is no easy task. Make sure you have stretched well, and be ready to play hard. You’ll have to hit one of your best shots of the day here.

Hole #2

Play the big fade off the tee with the risk of finding the small creek on the left, or lay up straight (200 yards). Par is a great score on this hole.

Hole #3

Finally an easy hole! This par 5 is one to get your confidence back. But like all the holes at Battenkill Country Club, DON’T go over the green.

Hole #4

This par 3 seems simple, but don’t be fooled. The bunkers left and right are sure trouble, if you should visit them. So take dead aim, and fire away!

Hole #5

Your fourth chance to hit a ball in the Battenkill River. Keep the ball on the left where it is dry. A second shot is key to this difficult elevated green, which is surrounded by 3 dangerous pot bunkers.

Hole #6

A fairway wood, or long iron tee shot will give you a short iron into a tough, elevated green. However, long hitters may want to take driver on this reachable par 4. This could make for a much needed birdie.

Hole #7

With a fairly wide open tee shot, your tee ball should leave you with a mid- to short-iron shot into a small green. Bunkers on three sides of this green demand an accurate approach.

Hole #8

The third and final par 3 requires another accurate mid- to long-iron tee shot. Miss the green short and right for an easy up and down. Long and left will leave you facing a miracle chip for par.

Hole #9

The longest and most difficult par 5 on the course, two long and straight shots will leave a mid- to short-iron shot to the green, giving you a good chance at birdie to end your round on a positive note.
